About us

Blaendyffryn Hall is an established care home situated in Horeb near Llandysul. The home is a beautiful historical building that is set amongst extensive grounds.  It is approximately five minutes from Llandysul, and about 15 minutes from the market town of Newcastle Emlyn, providing easy access to local amenities and community services.

Facilities

Blaendyffryn provides 30 personal and nursing care beds for older people over the age of 65 years. We are also registered to provide personal and nursing care to two people under the age of 65 within our 30 bed registration.

Blaendyffryn Hall is a four-storey building, converted from a previous hotel. The 28 bedrooms are located on the middle two storeys and are accessed via a lift or stairs. Blaendyffryn Hall can accommodate male and female residents in 26 single rooms and 2 shared rooms.

Residents are encouraged to bring in personal possessions, small items of furniture and memorabilia so that bedrooms are personalised.

Communal Areas

There is a spacious lounge located on the second floor, equipped with television. There is also a conservatory off the lounge.  There is a large designated dining room located on the second floor adjacent to the lounge. There is easy wheelchair access to outside grounds including patio areas.

Bedrooms

There are 12 bedrooms located on the ground floor and 16 on the second floor.  Bedrooms are perceived as the resident’s own private space and staff are instructed to knock before entering as a matter of respect.  Each bedroom is individually decorated and adequately furnished to include a washbasin, a lockable bedside unit and a bed, suitable to meet individuals’ care needs.

Rooms are redecorated on a regular basis and residents’ choices are considered.

Philosophy of Care

Further information about Blaendyffryn Hall will be avaliable very soon.

Fees upon request

Any person requiring residential care the local authority has a legal obligation to provide that care under regulation 35 of the Social Services Wellbeing Act 2014. Therefore the local authority must provide a choice of where the person wants to live. Choice of accommodation is enshrined in the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014.

If the local authority cannot provide that choice that they normally would expect to pay, which would be the level they set, then they must provide the choice in a facility that is more expensive and meet the cost themselves. The Social services and wellbeing act code of practice annexe C clearly mandates the above.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind our privately funded clients of their entitlement to attendance allowance. Please contact the manager for further information.

The funding threshold is currently £50,000. This capital limit determines whether a person pays their entire assessed care costs or whether they receive financial support towards the cost from their local authority
